‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’ Preview: I played The Legend of Zelda game for a really long time, more than 500 hours! So when they made a new game called Tears of the Kingdom, which people were really excited about, I had to play it too!
Nintendo invited me and some other people to a special place in New York City to see and play a new game. I was able to try it out myself after practicing on a similar game the night before. Here’s what I found out.
Table of Contents
Four new abilities
Some important people and reporters got to learn more about four cool abilities that we already saw before: Ultrahand, Recall, Fuse, and Ascend. It happened during a special event where they explained everything.
These new abilities in the game are like upgraded versions of the ones we already know, like Magnesis and Stasis. They let you do even more things by rotating objects in different ways. It’s exciting because it makes the game even more fun to explore and be creative in, just like before.
Ultrahand helps you pick up and move things, and Recall lets you go back in time and make things move the way they did before. I used them to move water out of the way so I could get to a treasure.
I’m really excited about a special power called Fuse. It lets you combine things to make new weapons and shields that are stronger and last longer. For example, you can stick a rock onto a stick and it becomes a hammer to smash rocks with cracks in them. The possibilities are endless!
Link has a special power called Ascend. It lets him go through ceilings to get to the floor above. It’s not easy to use, but it can help you find secret places. When Link uses Ascend, everything stops for a moment so he can check if there are any enemies up there. If there are, he can leave if he needs to. It’s important to remember to use Ascend to find hidden places, but it’s not always easy to remember.
It was my turn to play a really cool game for 20 minutes, but I got really nervous. I can’t tell you everything about the game, but I can say that it was definitely worth waiting for!

New devices reward the curious
In the game, I had to help a little creature called a Korok find their friend on another island. I had to collect things and put them on a cart to make it move along some tracks. I used a special tool called the Ultrahand to move and attach things like fans to the cart.
When I was playing a game, I had fun building things using special tools called Zonai devices. They were all over the game world and some looked like gliders that could fly with rockets, fans, or balloons. I even found big machines that gave me more tools to use. I had to collect a special resource called Zonaite and defeat enemies called Constructs to get them.
Imagine having a special pot that you can carry with you. Even though you can only use it once, you can bring many with you. It’s really helpful when you need to cook a big meal to restore your health in a hurry! There’s also a cool tool in the game that makes building things easier that I think I’ll use a lot.
We got to see some cool new things that we can’t explain in detail, like a new way to get to the floating islands in the sky. But most of what we saw reminded us of another fun game called Breath of the Wild. This new game is made to make you curious and reward you for trying new things.
This game on the Switch looks and plays really well. It’s very colorful and things far away look clearer and more detailed than in another game called Breath of the Wild. There are no problems with the way it works. The game has some dark areas like in older Zelda games, but there are new flowers that can bring light to those places. For more detail click the link.
I saw a sneak peek of a new game, but it didn’t show me everything I wanted to see. Even though I’ve been waiting for it for a long time, I know I have to try and not play it too much because I could get lost in it for 500 hours!
