Big raise for US military

Congress on Thursday passed a bipartisan $858 billion defense bill that gives service members their biggest pay raise in 20 years

A  4.6% bump for both military service members and civilian workers at the Department of Defense.

Service members also get a 2% housing allowance bump.

In addition, the bill contains several provisions to bolster cybersecurity, including an extra $50 million to speed the development and use of artificial intelligence at Cyber Command.

The National Defense Authorization Act now goes to President Joe Biden, who's expected to quickly sign off

Lots to be proud of in the final bipartisan NDAA -- but especially thrilled for the progress that the Financial Data Transparency Act offers to vastly improve our financial data systems for the American people, investors, and regulators.

This is a game-changer for those who care about using data for accountability, decision-making, and improving our economy.
